In only its second meet of the season, a very young Northstars Swimming & Diving team clashed with perennial powerhouse Liverpool at Le Moyne College on Tuesday.  With an incredible start to the meet, CNS led the Warriors through the first nine of twelve events.  Allie McRobbie, Brooke Fedi, Brittany Wood and Bryn Meyers struck 1st with a win in the 200-medley relay, followed by a strong back up third place finish in the same event by Alexa Kulakowski, Brandi Feeney, Ryleigh Lenning, and Alyana Harbaugh.  Next, sophomore Grace Devinney took out Liverpool’s senior star, Jaida Fox, in the 200 freestyle supported with a strong 3rd place finish by Junior Jeanne Vinette.  Senior Brooke Fedi continued her domination in the 200 IM cruising to an easy 1st place finish of 2:22.62.  Perhaps the surprise of the evening was an incredible 1-2 finish in the 1-meter diving event, by junior Madeline Thorne, and 8th grader Kaitlyn Carroll with Section 3 leading scores of 213.60, and 206.30 respectively.  Freshman Bryn Myers, Sophomore, Alayna Harbaugh, and freshman Brittany Wood were also able to outscore the Warriors in the 100 freestyle.  Close races in the 200 free relay saw the young Stars narrowly touched out in the 200 free relay allowing Liverpool to tie the meet up with only 3 events remaining.  From that point Liverpool was able to pull away dominating the backstroke event with a 1-2-3 finish ending the meet with a 100-86 final score.          With only one day rebound the Lady Northstars bounced back Thursday, beating Syracuse City 98-81.  Again, Grace Devinney and Brooke Fedi led the charge in the 200 medley.  Bryn Meyers placed 2nd in the 200 free, while Grace Devinney and Brittany Wood raced to a 1-2 finish in the 200IM.  Brooke Fedi was able to pick up yet another 1st place in the 50 freestyle sprint event, while the CNS diving trio of Madeline Thorne, Kaitlyn Carroll, and Carly Tolhurst again dominated the diving event.  Thorne and Carroll shocked again with a 1-2 finish over one of Section III’s top divers from Syracuse City.  Alayna Harbaugh swam to a life time best of 1:10.27 in the 100-butterfly improving her time by over ten seconds from last season!  Sophomore Allie McRobbie was able to touch out Syracuse City, anchoring the 200-freestyle relay in Michael Phelps finish fashion with a time 1:50.98 to Syracuse Citys 1:51.03.  To close out the meet Fedi swam to a seasons best time in the 100 breaststroke, With Grace Devinney doing the same in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:08.56.  The Northstars take on a tough CBA squad next Tuesday at Le Moyne Colle, 7pm.  Come out to support the team!
