Cicero-North Syracuse righted a veering ship Friday night at home, putting a halt to their modest three-game losing streak with a 52-45 win against Baldwinsville.

The Bees jumped out to a 13-8 lead after one quarter, but the Northstars flipped the script in the second to hold a 25-21 edge at halftime. The visitors stayed within striking distance throughout, but Nick DeMonte's game-high 18 points helped C-NS hang on and pick up their first league win and improve to 3-4 overall.

The Northstars outscored Baldwinsville 13-4 from the free throw line and were able to withstand 14-point outings from JJ Starling and Cameron Weatherly.

After starting off the season 2-1 (including a 60-46 home decision against Christian Brothers Academy,) C-NS entered competition on Friday having dropped their last trio of games. They fell to still undefeated West Genesee 50-49 on Dec. 11 and lost to fellow unbeaten Corcoran 57-53 last Friday, then were blown out by one-win Liverpool on Tuesday.

With the loss, the Bees now stand at 2-2 in SCAC Metro Conference play and 4-3 overall.
